Tubes look pretty hot!

Post by gnugear » Thu Jan 08, 2004 10:46 am

Hey all,

I was rebiasing last night with the probe I got from George, and noticed my tubes looked like they were getting pretty hot. I know a bright glow is normal, but this was a little different. After playing for 30 minutes the area where the plates are crimped started to glow orange. Sound normal?

Wait till you see 'em white hot and blue arcs fling throughout your amp. Then you are in trouble. What you are describing is definately not right. George had better come to the rescue here.
