I never heard of "Classic Reissue" speakers. I can only speak for ACTUAL original EVM12L's, which as I've said, IMO are absolute soopa monsta killas in the right amp.Twistingcrow wrote:Hey guys!
I'm soon to order a pair of EVM12L's for my 2X12 cab and for the same price I can have either the new Classic Reissue Models or NOS Original "Thick Plate" models . What do you think? Is there any difference in sound between them (of course the originals' seller says that his sound nothing like the new reissue...)
Thanks!
EVM 12L with non master volume plexi a good match?

The thick plate original DOES look exactly like an original EVM12L. At least as far as actual originals go, I've bought a few of 'em brand new, and right out of the box they sound amazing without break in. Like all speakers, they do get better with age.Twistingcrow wrote:This is the current Classic reissue model:

For me?? I'd go with a known item (the thick plate originals).

OK Thanks a lot Fillmore! I'll order the originals. I'm gonna put them in a 2X12 cab (same dimensions and wood quality as Mojo's 2X12 straight vertical Marshall cab) from Germany. I'll have them work with a Metro 50W... Should sound awesome with both my strat and my LesPaul... I can't wait to put together this ultimate rig! I'll add an Alex's attenuator to this and "voilà!" as we say here in France!
Thanks again!
Thanks again!

Im using a Roccaforte prototype 50 watt head on that cab, which already has a huge tone. Ill post what I find with that combination.
I anticipate a soopa monsta killa...
Sorry for the super necrobump but did you ever do that switch? Funny thing is that I was thinking of doing the same thing!
