Well... Nothing now! Not sure if it was a fluke or if I have a bad tube that might rear its ugly head again?neikeel wrote:Nope. I have a Hotplate, Motherload Elemental and and Alex. As soon as I hook it up and turn the UA's standby to on I blow the HT fuse in the amp. I contacted Mark and him and I will discuss. But I thought I would post here to see if anyone has any ideas?
Thanks
What happens if you are turned right down on volume and have the UA in the path with no attenuation and slowly bring the vol up (again without attenuation)?
I found two of the UA's pots were not tightely secured, so I removed the top chassis to have a peak. I tightened up the nuts so the pots are nice a snug now. I also found when I pulled the cover off that one of the UA's green wires going from the far left lug on the front volume pot was pinched in between the upper and lower chassis housing. The wire is in tact, so I am not sure that had anything to do with it. But all seems fine, at least for now.
As a precaution I searched the forum here for probable causes of HT fuses blowing. So I did some simple tests and all seems ok with the amp.
I tried your advice Neil and nothing happens other than everything is working the way it is suppose too. SO unless it is no longer a problem, or some sort of intermittent issue that may be difficult locate, all is good for now.
I guess time will tell, in the meantime I think I will have some time to make a clip this weekend... This amp is great! I am just grinning from ear to ear!
