If you really like the guitar then I would highly recommend the Schaller Nashville Tunomatic replacement, you can specify the spacing and studhole size too, as it will depend on where your Epi was made - China/Indonesia/Korea are some high end ones still made in the USA? Metric vs Imperial.

If money is tight and you can measure what you have at the moment accurately you can get these, pre-notched:

The tuners make a big difference too - I usually use the Grovers too. My main guitar has locking type for quick changes if needed.
These are surprisingly good tho'http://www.axesrus.co.uk/Kluson-Style-W ... 44-3x3.htm
These are the best (IMO):http://www.axesrus.co.uk/Grover-Origina ... -p/102.htm

Can you just get new bridge saddles rather than a whole new bridge? Just switch out the three that the tech "fixed".

And ditch those black speed knobs. They drive me crazy.

Hmmm the reason I was thinking whole new bridge instead of just saddles is because it's hard to find pre-notched gold saddles...
I suppose black or silver saddles would look pretty sweet with the gold..

I'll upgrade the tuners if the saddles don't fix the problem (I'm 99% sure it's those though)
My current tuners on it are grovers 14:1 and look identical to the ones you linked... probably a cheap knock off Epi uses though? idk

lol vanhalen5150, they're already gone, I have TopHat style ones on there now xD

So which should I go for Narrow or Wide notched?

I'd go for the wider notch because your strings cross at an angle.

Know how Gibson use to set the strings through the saddles? They use to line up the strings and then hit(tap?) each one with a hammer. Seriously. That's how they did it. I do something similar when putting on new tunomatics. I slot the saddles myself at the angle the string is actually going through. Not that big of a deal.

Quality tuners make a world of difference. I doubt Epi is using them.

Sir, would you prefer some "grey poupon" with that? Or would you like your cake, and to eat it too? LOL :toast:

At least with just getting new saddles, black, chrome or otherwise, you can determine that you have actually solved the problem without purchasing an entire new bridge.

Looks like you got some good leads.
