Fake.

Note the leads, untarnished..no pitting whatsoever.
Note the script..nice and fresh..no dirt..no blemishes..these things look brand new because they are brand new.
These obviously represent the scammers biggest profit margin..75 bucks each..Ouch.

IMO those are real.
We can date these BOP caps back to early 70s Marshall amps.
These have a glossy finish to them just like the ones in those Marshalls.

This seller has sold 104 set of 10caps in 4 1/2 years. 1040 caps total and has 96 more listngs of 10.
20 bags of 100caps is what we know he has had. Seems like a lot of caps but in reality could have easily been stored in a smaller box and forgotten about all these years.

Any things possible and anything could be fake with quantity like this.
I have used these and didnt question them.

hello,

they're fake.

They look better than the ones I got ripped off with, the 33p batch/date code turds, these look to me like they have thinner coating, they're a different color, darker mustard..there are two things that prevent me from considering these to be NOS though.

1) they look brand new...shiny. they look like they were made last week, not fifty years ago.
2) I wouldn't touch anything from a batch that big, or bigger...these caps have gone ...vanished..used up...if you see them in ones and two's that look a lot more beat up than them, then I'd say they're NOS...but not these.
I now have around forty of these .022@400v caps and they all look shitty to some degree, old, dusty..tarnished and stained...2/3 of them with shortened leads from amp pulls

If I was you, and after some of these caps, I'd buy one.. rip it open and check for the tensile strength of that mylar wrap... If I was you and didn't want to do that, I'd pass on these and wait to get some that looked a little ( a lot ) more beat up.

RockinRocket has told us in previous posts that he has 400 of these fake caps. He has also told us how to make old caps look new, and how to make new caps look old. He has agreed that the caps I got ripped off with are the same ones that he has installed in peoples amps, ie, he's ripping people off. read the prior posts in this thread to find out what sort of person he is.

Dude, your knowledge is based on how to rip people off, and that has suited my purposes just fine.
I got kicked off marshallforum because they're a bunch of wimps who didn't like what I had to say about Saul Hudson, audiokarma thread is still there..i've noticed sales of these fake bags has stopped on ebay..shame eh nicholas?
You keep doing what you're doing, and I'll keep doing what I'm doing and the good people here will end up better off.
How's erm..sales of your mustards lately? lmfao imagine being lumped with that many fakes...
I've got an exciting build coming up shortly Nicholas, Mxxxxxn 12000 series ot, some actual vintage mustards.
Home made chassis, I'll keep you posted. xformer is about two days away.

What do you reckon Nicholas?
2000 bags of these left in 2018 sound about right?
Five weeks ago of course there were none of these bags around, but NOW they're available..unearthed at some amp guys storage shed perhaps?

I don't know anything about those caps. If they are paper and oil (?) I wouldn't buy them and especially in that condition.

Nicholas, You and I both know what's fake and real, at least now you do anyway.
Why constantly feather your own nest?
Help the people Nicholas, it comes back to you.
Yesterday arvo, I received in the mail 12 NOS .022 @400v mustards, genuine ones, 's' code.
What do you have over there except for fake caps? Nothing.
Help the people Nicholas.
The Hare Krishna believe only the conditioned Soul steals and cheats.
Break your conditioning, Nicholas.
It's precisely because of people like you that cause people like John L to be ripped off.
The correct thing to do now, for you, is to purchase those 20 caps from John L. at the price he paid for them.
This corrupt conditioning that affects you like a sickness will be lifted from you like a cloak.

Both of those Astron caps are odd values that were never used in Fender amps. If they were .1uf or .022uf it would be unusual to find them in large quantities.
