Ok
got my resistors. But I am kinda leary here.
1. Not very big-like the size of my ring finger in length-rated 100w 16ohm. They just don't look very robust.
2. Mine are green and not gold colored. This mean anything?
3. I know series parallel wiring scheme for a 4x12 but with no positive/negative notation-exactly how am I wiring this??
I certainly want a once over from someone here before I hook this up. I don't wanna have magic smoke comin from my amp

Like the resistors in you amp, they can be installed either direction. No + or - sides. You'll be fine.

Okay, I built the load box that Ossie described on YouTube. It’s a little messy until I get the 5 hole terminal strip. It seems to work well although I’m waiting until I get some more info on a couple things. I used four 100w 100r resistors, 250k pot and a Jensen JT 10KB-D transformer. It sounds good, just want to make sure I’m doing it right.
I’m using it as a load for one Marshall 2204 and re amping into another 2204. It seems to sound best if I’m using the loaded Marshall with the high input while the Marshall getting the signal is in the low channel. So my questions are:

How is the potentiometer supposed to be used?

Is there anything I should be careful of so the only thing I damage I might do are tubes?

Sorry for the stupid questions. I’m just trying to get a sound without od pedals. And even though I don’t own a plexi, I want to get as close to that kind of plexi cranked gain as I can. Thanks for any help with this.

I just built one of these and it works great. It does get pretty hot though. I drilled holes in the box and am thinking about maybe installing a fan?

Just using two 2204’s. One head for the load, then line out to the second.

Load box is 400 watt, 25 ohms with the head at 16 ohms, master on 5, preamp on 10

Any ideas on the heat?

As long as you use power resistor(s) rated correctly and heat sink them to a sufficient thermal mass (heat sink) you won't need a fan.

I have never needed to use the fan in this one I built years ago:
