I recently played thru one of these bad boys and want one. Anybody know if someone makes AC-15 kits?

A similar topic is earlier on this page for AC30 kits. I think the same thing is true here of what I said there. Vox's vibrato is a very extensive circuit and seems to have more components then the rest of the amp. It would be a pain and unfortunately the vibrato feeds the PI in some weird way to give the amp a slight mid emphasis. Its a wierd filter. Not all ACs have that.
Ive made one of these amps. IIRC the AC15 is similar with a top boost switch and a vibrato channel which you could leave out. You would have to get a custom board but a Vox board with no vib wouldnt be large or expensive. I found it pretty easy. You could have Nik at Ceriatone.com make a nice board and chassis for instance. He could easily help you with this. He does a board for the Hoffman style AC30 kit which could easily be used for an AC15-vib. But if you want to do an accurate version theres no reason not to if your willing. Its up to you but theres no kits anywhere for Vox amps as of now I dont think.
Another thing to think about is you'd probably have to use a Hammond tranny as I dont know of anyone who does good AC15 trannys.

Billy,
I put my metroboard in my 100 watter and did all the sozo changes, but I don't know about doing a amp kit solo without any direction. I'll have to think about this one. I really like the tone of those ac-15's, and you cannot find them around at all. I'm going to check out ceriatone.com, so who knows. It would be a challenge.

It was only a suggestion. I didnt know what kind of projects youve done before. Dont do it if you dont feel competent. You can still put it together following the metro instructions as a general guide but youll have to figure out the best way to wire it up yourself. It should be pretty similar without the vibrato.
