Proper UA for JTM45/100

Post by andydo » Thu Nov 30, 2006 8:41 am

What would be the proper Ultimate Attenuator to purchase for a JTM45/100? I would assume that the 200watt (Beef) or 300watt (Super) model would be fine however I'd like to ask the group their opinion?

I was thinking the following for options...

200watt model (Beefed up load that is)
Variable Line Out
Wattage Doubler
Plexi/High Gain <--- I believe I will pass on this option.

Mine is the 200-watt upgrade which handles the power fine -- but mine would get hot and smell kinda bad so I added a small 12VDC fan in the grille next to the power resistors to vent the heat out. Worked like a charm.

Dan (Billy Batz) told me the plexi switch was useless unless you liked screechy sound, and I got it anyway. What a waste of $25 -- skip it!!!

Volume wise.. Would the 200w and the 300w be the same I wonder. Im sure a whole lotta folks have each model and A/B'ed em too.. Yeah, since they're so cheap and all.

Thats good to know. I was set to get the plexi switch, if I ever bought one.
