Sucks for them. I got my own problems. Im only complaining because thats what the thread is about. Ive dealt with the problem the best way there is. I dont go to GC EVER! Well.... Maybe every once in a while

Listen closely. Do you hear it? Its my fingers rubbing together playing the worlds smallest violin just for the guys at GC tryin to earn commision.
Im not totaly sure but I didnt think GC S.A.s made commission? I know SA sales guys dont. They get bonuses each month. Most of the guys Ive hung out with or been freinds with who work at GC/SA were either in school or they want to be full time musicians but it aint payin the rent.

Fuck that! If a store cannot even train their employees to have more than the knowledge on how to turn an amp on they deserve to be ridiculed. If I dont like the fucking Mesa Boogie Zzytbox Nowangafier what are they going to suggest to me? The Marshall Aweful Vucking Technology hybred amp? Or the Godly B-52 Chinaturd amp? Fuck that. who was that guy who asked us to cut them some slack?
HAHAHAHAHA.........HA!
These morons who dont try to learn at least whats in their sector of the store farther than to be able to nod in agreement with a customer while not knowing with that hell the customer is talking about should quit and go flip burgers because that is all that employee is worth.
Maybe they should start hiring at least 1 knowedgable employee to every 10 warm bodied sales persons they hire.

You see Nec that would never hapen because you have to
pay someone whos knowledgeable.
Heres another example. Now, I dont know much about cars so when I walk into Pehp Booyz and locate the part for my car whereas the employees need their computer.... thats Fd up.

You also have to remember that that video was taken back when there was only ONE Guitar Center right there on Sunset Strip back in the day. Back before they became a huge joke of a chainstore. Give Freddie a pass on that one.

I'm not blaming Freddie. I just think that's funny that a big rock star wears a Guitar Center strap.

It was just funny because of all the GC talk that has been going on in here. I don't blame the guy.....I'm sure he got it for free.
I'm hoping to in the next month or so record a version of Love of my Life and or Is This The World We Created......a couple of friends of mine found a girl singer with an "angelic voice". I'll post a link when it's finished. (hopefully soon, I'm aching to get some stuff out there)

So... today I went looking for an ATA flight case for my PRS clone.
Stopped at the Tacoma GC - the guy in accessories got this deer-in-the-headlights look when I asked for an "ATA" case... He said, "you mean hard shell?" So he checked and said they might have an SKB, but they didn't.
Next stop - Seattle GC... same thing! Clueless, and didn't have anything in stock.
Last stop - American Music (local shop, just a few stores in the area)... they had two Gator G-Tour ATA cases sitting right there at the counter.

Hey I want to get in on this Guitar Center bashing, allthough they let me play some other guys $20K Clapton..but!
The Guitar Center phenomenom is not any different from the general societal dumbing down these days.I swear you could walk in with a real '59 Les Paul Standard and they wouldn't know what the **** it was!!
I brought my Steve Stevens in one time, they were like, what's that??
One lady customer thought my snakeskin Hamer was cool though.
You should have seen the way they acted when I brought back my first Marshall Handwired, now that I think of it,I don't want to remember any of it...!!
When they buy out Fender and Gibson, then I will be pissed..as they virtually tell them what to do now anyway...

Here is one that I have been saving. I go into the new Guitar Center here in San Antonio. I was looking for a price on the new reissue of the TC Electronics Distortion/ Sustainer pedal. It was not in the GC system yet as they were to be officially for sale starting @ NAMM. So the salesman I was speaking with goes to another computer and looks at the TC website. He confirms it to me(which I already knew but I gave him a pass because he was polite), that they were indeed announced, so he calls TC and gets me a price. I tell him thank you and he gives me his card. I walk over to the guitar section.
Now the guitar section looks fairly thin at the time. They had just gotten the Dean contract so they had a bunch of fanboi colored Deans in stock. I do not want the Dimebolt ML or the Dimerust Razorback. I always wanted a Dean V but, the Schenker colors are fine for Schenker, gay for anyone else unless you are a fanboi. I go over to speak with the salesman, and ask him if he could get me a price on a US Dean V in black with Floyd tremolo. He tells me that they do not have one in stock. I respond ok, but is it possible to get me a price for one. I was then told by this cocksucker that it would cost me $500 deposit to get a price. I tell him that there should be no reason why I need to give anyone $500 for a price. He then tells me that it is really hard to start moving on a guitar unless a deposit is made. I tell him that I am not ready to move on a guitar and would just like a price. Maybe he could look into his little computer and see if they had one in that color in another store. I was then told that Guitar Center is not set up to see other store's stock.
Now this is bullshit as I have been to GC in Austin(both stores), Houston, Dallas. Each one if an item is not in stock would tell me that said part is in said store and would take said time to get into the store I happened to be in. Needless to say this little cunt started to piss me off.
This guy then tells me that it would be a waste of time to get a price since I was not serious about a purchase. I tell him that I do not want to put a deposit down on a guitar that I do not know if I actually want. I was then told that I would be given a refund if the deal did not go through. I ask if this refund would be immediate or what. I was told it would be mailed to me in check form. I tell him no way and that I am going across the highway to Sam Ash as they will give me a price.
As I walk out pissed off to high heaven, the store manager asks me if everything is good. I tell him what happened. I tell him that I will never step foot in ANY Guitar Center again and that once I pay my credit card off I will tear it up. I will now go to the two local stores for used stuff and Sam Ash for new stuff. Not much has changed since before this store was brought in.

Necrovore - that whole exchange just doesn't make any sense at all. When did this happen?

That is BS. I have had stuff from other stores brought in. Its real simple, if you get a good salesman. I have a good GC, all things considered,($ corperations and music are oposing to one another)I like some of the employee's they have now. The employee turnaround there is ridiculous (a testament to a lousy job). GC works on the fact that there are always people who think working there makes them hip (a leveraging tactic) Sam Ash is more consistant.
