Oh yeah, let me tell about the PTP board the previous owner of that purple cab built. It was a typical 1987 board but had the ultimate in parts. Vishay's best metal films resistors, Blackgate 'lytics (I think), and Jensen paper-in-oils instead of the usual films. The Jensens alone would cost close to $150.00! The Blackgates are RIDICULOUSLY expensive too, especially since they're not made anymore. I'm not so sure that board would nail the ultimate Plexi tone but I bet it would sound super in my MacIntosh stereo amp!

Yeah, it was a nice cab, but the more I looked at it and the more I stumbled over on my floor the more I hated it. It was REALLY REALLY purple. Like a big square peter.

I have another one anyway. It's one of Mojos' that will accept a regular sized Marshall smallbox chassis. And the purple is a softer shade. I'm gonna put the JTM50 circuit in it and get rid of it.

I'm planning on offing a few more amps in the next few months. Probably some parts too.

I just finished and sold a JTM45 on Ebay recently and it got lots of interest. Mostly from people who wanted the JTM50 circuit instead of the '45! Here was the auction: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 7357603502
Huh, I missed that auction. I usually keep a close eye on what's out there for JTM45 clones and reissues. Nice work.

I know the feeling about offing some amps. I just unloaded a '68 Bassman, and my '78 Marshall 50-watt is going to go up on the chopping block shortly. I've just got too much stuff that I don't have time to play, and since I like building more amps something's gotta go.....plus I just did the bills, and I ain't very happy     .

I hear ya there. I decided the SLO's gonna go soon. It was a good workhorse for the cover and fill in jobs but Im not selling my SB, my fenders and first 100W clone are too messed with to sell for a any reasonable price, and I want to put more money into the new metro build.

So I am puttzing around and see a thread about a purple cab. I click and low and behold that's my purple cab that I built for my first plexi attempt! I think the auction went for way more than I sold it for!!!! I am still in awe to see this thread and the cab/Chassis.

I restored a Dyna stereo tube amp a couple of years ago and auctioned it off. Since then I've seen it on Ebay two separate times.

So Koa, what did you do with that hifi Plexi board?

I ended up removing the components and ditched the board.
