Hypothetical phone call home...

PP: "Mom?"

PP MOM: "Yes dear?"

PP: "Someone said something bad about my amp!"

PP MOM: "Dear, we talked about this in grade school...nothing's changed. Go to bed, dear. Make sure you go potty first."

PP:

Okay Fill, but just one more...
"Sticks and stones may break my bones, but tones are always subjective".
So it seems like you should be able to post a review based on your opinion without fear of reprisal. Maybe you accidentally logged-on to the Al Qaeda or North Korean version of the site? Those two react harshly and use unwarranted intimidation techniques too.
Beats me...
Fuck it.

Oh yeah Metro is more liberal than most, I happen to think that Mojave stuff is way overrated, by them mostly  . I am a member of their forum, but rarely post there.
George Alessandro of Houndog Amps told be to beware of them for some reason, wouldn't say why.
Who cares, Metro's are like every best Marshall, yet on steroids!
Everybody knows what my opinions are here and most respect them, as I do there's.
George is unique in that he allows so much freedom on here, and I was able to rebel against the status quo here as much as humanly possible in the past, without getting booted.
It's all good, we live and learn, George is paying for our air time ultimately and you cannot find a more helpful or intelligent forum, anywhere, so sorry fillmore, but PP has had it's day.
This guy I know from the Warren DeMartini forum, yes not a lot of action there  , but I met up with him at the Van Noize amp show and he told me Victor Mason invited him to his house for dinner while he was in Ca.
This guy swears by his Sidewinder and won't buy any other amp, good for him, I checked them out years ago, but passed.
What ever works for you is the best for you, but as has been said here before, George's amps should be in a museum as they are F%$#ng works of art, as NY Chief might say  .
Seriously I hope to own quite a few Metro's some day myself 8) .
Just come back home to Metro forum, the light is always on and somebody who cares is home :D :D

+1 on that, Yng. George, his amps and his forum are just beyond great, IMO. I got my pre-order in for one of the new 50 watt Plexi kits and I could not be more stoked. Clark says they should be shipped around the 15th of this month, so Im losing some sleep in anticipation!! That 50 watt Marshall tone is something I've been chasing for a LONG time, and now Im confident Im getting the absolute best there is. I cant decide if Im gonna put it in a Bluesbreaker style cab (I have one built already, out of Brazilian mahogany) or just set it up as a head/bottom, but Im getting ahead of myself!! I gotta get it and build it first!! Ohhh, the waiting... its KILLIN' me, I tell ya!! 8) 8) 8)

fillmore nyc wrote:Looks like I got myself booted from the Plexi-palace forum. I posted my honest opinion regarding the Mojave Scorpion, that it was NOT the amp of the year, IMO. I scripted carefully, without any slanderous comments, or excessive negativity, and they not only didnt throw the thread up, but they sent me an email saying "dont bother comming back"!! (no thats not MY typo--thats how the moderator there spelled "coming"). Im crushed. ( ) It really sucks that a review that is less than ass kissing, and stellar wont be posted there. Even more disturbing is the moderators deciding what the forum members can and cant read. Bummer for them. Ah, well... whadda ya gonna do? I've been kicked out of better places than that, and Im still gettin' by!!

I saw your post before it got deleted, and I have to disagree with your characterization of it. First of all, it's absolutely not true that there are only glowing reviews about the Scorpion on the PP board. There are people that have tried it and prefer another tone. They're cool and respectful about it saying it's not for them. Those opinions are allowed because they're respectful and not over the top drama.

When you go to someones house, you better be cool about how you say something or you're going to be asked to leave. With only 2 posts, it sure looked like a drive-by slam....something a troll woud post. If it were my board, I would've yanked it too.

So lets please ease up on the propaganda about being a poor victim, and the other nonsense. People can say whatever they want about Mojave over there as long as it's sincere, respectful....if you actually read the board, you'll see that this does happen on a normal basis. It also helps to be a regular participating member so that people can get to know you, and that will lend your opinion more credibility.

Aren't we ready to drop this yet, and instead discuss the cool picture of Jim's and his buddy's SGs in this month's Vintage Guitar?

And you would have banned him without warning and intimidated him as well?

You talk about being "respectful" but that goes both ways.
Which is worse - a member posting a less than flattering review, or admin banning a member without warning, and then threatening to "report" the incident to his ISP?

Sorry Flames, I just saw your post after I posted this...I'm done here.
Fuck it.

Thats funny you should say that with only 2 posts it looked like a drive by slam, and that if I were a regular participating member, it would lend my opinion credibility. First of all, the FIRST post I put up was asking opinions about a Scorpion vs a Metal front Marshall, and if YOU read it, it was prefaced with all due respect to the participating members there and their contributions. The "participating members" gave exactly one response to that thread, and not one person even had the decency to welcome me to that forum, something you would NEVER see happen on this forum. When a new member posts a thread here, he or she is universally welcomed.
Second, a "drive by slam"? Why, because a new member had the GALL to possibly criticise an amp? GOD FORBID!! I've gotten the wizard angry!! I do not need multiple posts to "lend credibility" to my opinion. I could really care less if you think my opinion is credible or not, because I dont speak from heresay, and I dont speak from ideas I've formulated from nowhere. I speak from experience. My experience with that amp is exactly what I wrote about it, and I stand by it 100%. Its very typical of a member of that forum such as yourself to resort to petty name calling as you did earlier with your "something a troll woud post" comment. Look, if you cant defend your position with some reasonable level of intelligence instead of resorting to name calling, maybe its time to stop and THINK about what you REALLY want to say, because if thats it, it sort of leaves you looking a bit juvenile. Maybe if you posted more on THIS forum, somebody would think YOU had some credibility here. The difference is, nobody here is going to ban you because you happen to voice an opinion that does not go with the "required for membership" flow.
Additionally, the response of the moderator that he was going to "report me to my ISP provider" is really pathetic. I mean, what was THAT comment was going to accomplish? Intimidation? Sorry. Picked the wrong guy for that.
Lastly if you do any reading on THIS forum, you'll find a lot of its members with similar opinions of not only their amps, but that forum and its members as well. NOT because its my opinion. I have MUCH respect for the forum members here, and what they say is what they feel. If they disagreed with my comments, they would say so, and there would be a debate which is always welcome, BUT NOBODY WOULD BE BANNED, AND NOBODY WOULD MAKE LAME THREATS. I would have had just as much respect for the PP forum IF they were able to handle things in a mature manner, but I guess THATS out the window, isnt it? Im REAL sorry ( ) if your forum, its members and its moderators cant take a little criticism of their amps, but again, you're engaging in an excercise in futility if you think you're going to back me off of my postion, and Im NOT gonna be intimidated with lame little threats. I had said earlier that I was going in another direction with this thread, and thats what Im going to do as of this post, out of respect for George, and the other members of this forum. This conversation is getting old already. If you want to continue this battle, continue it with yourself.

I couldn't bring myself to read all that propaganda drama queen stuff, but you do come across as a troll that's up to no good including your threats.........so IMHO you deserve to be treated as such. I'm in 100% in agreement with Vic on this one. That's all I have to say about it.
