Are the Scallopes Machined done or by hand for this Artist series Malmsteen Stratocaster?
It should be more expensive lets say compare to a John Mayer or Clapton but they are the same... good for us!

Fellow Swede, John Norum, used a white rosewood board 'bullet rod' strat as well back in the 80's. Jeff Beck also had such a guitar. I got my newly 'reliced' strat body and neck back recently. I'll try to get some pic's up.

What tone are you guys getting with the Malmsteen strat through the plexi's?
With mine and the VHT 50ST l am getting good lows on the E string but its a very bright guitar l want more of that Malmsteen growl! Any suggestions? Is it the VHT that is causing this? Because its such high gain amp. I love the tone malmsteen gets on the instructional video when he plays
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ISosUk4rdI
I guess if l listen to the high notes they are bright, l guess l was too use to the custom strat l have where it is very mellow sounding, l think the Malmsteen would get through the mix better.
Maybe the answer is for me to build the 50watt Plexi!
Malmsteen Strat - VHT50 - TC GForce - 2x Marshall HWB 30H's English made

That amp and cab should definatly get you in the ballpark. The 1987 or 1959 circuit amps would be way better though. I would jumper the channels to get a fatter tone. Also, a good DOD Overdrive/Preamp 250 (Sorry, but the 'Yngwie' version isnt exactly like the old ones, circuit or tonewise) totally dimed through one of these amps is what you want to do. Some attenuation is also needed if you cant turn up. Yngwie really pushes his out -.put tubes.

Tone Slinger so you think that my VHT is too modern sounding and gaining to re produce his tone, so part of it is infact the Plexi and pushing the tube into clipping.
has anybody here done the same?
New guitars need to be worked in, has that been proven? The reason l am asking if anybody has owned a Malmsteen for a few years and have heard a transformation that the neck + body resonates more or the tone become more mellow.
Cheers

Yeah, an old non master volume 1987 or 1959 4 hole Marshall along with a 4/12 Marshall cab (I liked Yngwie's earlier type tone, ala 'Rising Force' and 'Marching Out' where he had 25's and 30's in his cabs) will get you TOTALLY there. I would reccomend going to the Analog Man website, and looking at his DOD 250 mod section. In there you will find some clips of a guy named Mike Spritzer. He uses exactly the same gear as Malmsteen(he used to manage him). His tone is very similar.

Yngwie308 what is the weight lbs of your malmsteen strat? There is something funny about my Malmsteen strat, its bright and sustains like hell! Why l saw this because l have two malmsteen strats, the rosewood is brighter than my maple fingerboard one, its weird!
Rosewood Model weights 8.3lbs
maple Model weights 7.4lbs
does the weight contribute to the sustain?
Am l getting too scientific?

Yngve with Strats traditionally, a lighter guitar is more acoustically resonant, the only ash bodied Strat I ever had was a Mary Kaye 1987 blonde with gold hardware. I ordered it from fender and it looked beautiful, but it was the deadest sounding Strat I have ever played.
I traded it to Music Ground for my '59 Jenning Vox AC-15 TV front amp.
If you stray to the 'other' section, you will find the hardwood ash, the korina Destroyer, ect.
Personally I like standard style Strats with the exception of my Dinky Washburn SS80 and my Hamer Chapparal superstrat!
i WILL WEIGH MY yjm But I can tell you it is considerably heavier than my '57 Vintage Reissue, but it has brass nut, big headstock, huge frets, ect.

I am so use to heavier guitars and having a lighter one is like, what the??? Also l thought that Alder from fender would ranger very close, but l think that rosewood would add to its weight, but it does resonate well. It needs a setup badly and that would help alot in getting the neck straight and fixing the float of the trem and innotation.
I heard alot of people love the lighter strats and go for them more than the heavier ones.

My two sound alike even though they are set up with different strings.
I got tons of clips up of both thru varius distortion pedals.

not much relief, like 005-007
action, just above 4/64ths under each string at the 12th fret

Did you do these setups yourself? Almost dead flat neck!

yes. I know how to adjust the truss rod and I set the action with a small ruler. I cant do fretwork, but I can set my guitars up.
I find there is no benifit from having much relief in the neck.
