1959/2203 probs...

Post by ACDCG400 » Thu Mar 20, 2008 7:14 pm

Heys guys its me again. im still having trouble after doing everything possible to my 1959/2203. When I play loud, the part that glows blue inside the tubes (screens?) dims. That can't be good. but on the low voltage setting, it doesnt do that at the same volume. on the 2203 setting it feedbacks like crazy with the PPMIV on 4 and above. The caps haven't broken in yet, so i think thats whats causing the slight treble harshness. I have taken more pics and here they are. the whole 1959/2203 mod has been shielded. i'm considering shielding EVERYTHING and compensating for the treble loss.

A bad Batch of SED Tubes were produced. If thats what you are using.
If you do decide to buy new tubes buy them from Metro, they sell tubes.

Good luck to you, and its sounds like you have it under control.
