I'm Trying To Build A 12xxx Amplifier, But I Am Lost Now!
Hello all, my name is Daniel; this is my first ever forum post on the internet. I just yesterday received my 12xxx kit, and I started at once building the amp, following the 100 watt instructions that came with the disc, as you all recommend here, along with a link mentioning installation of the transformers that someone posted for the 12xxx kit. I am rather stuck now at the part where I am supposed to "Cut a 1” piece of 18ga buss wire. Solder this wire from the black ground terminal of the F4 cap can to its ground lug." The problem is, my amp does not have all of the caps e.g. F4, F5 in the location specified. I am rather lost now. If anyone could help me out, it would be appreciated. By the way, I live in Palm Beach Gardens, so if there is anybody local, I could use some personal help since I am very much a visual learner. Also, how am I notified when someone responds to this posting? Thanks, Daniel

Hi - Welcome
To subscribe to the topic, look at your posting. Near the top of the page, a bit above your posting and a bit to the left, you'll see "new topic" and "post a reply." Just underneath "new topic" you'll also see, a bit smaller in font size, "Subscribe topic." You can adjust the other details in your user control panel, under "Manage Subscriptions."

In addition to what thousandshirts said, you will be notified by email of replies to posts that you are involved in or have started.
As far as your build goes, do you have a pic of where you're at now?

The above points are vital - post pics. I presume you are working from this schematic:

If you are looking how to wire the cap board on a 12xxx here is one:

Does this help?
