'68 Lead Spec 50 Watt Review

Post by Leftyman » Wed Dec 23, 2009 10:14 pm

Just wanted to write a quick review of my new 1968 lead spec 50 watt kit with the master volume mod that I had metroamp put together for me. I absolutely love this amp, sounds like the real deal. I had previously owned a Marshall 1987x and thought it sounded very sterile. I had it modded by someone who will remain nameless and thought it came back worse than when it left. Like I said sterile, very raspy and just not pleasing to my ears. I looked at a lot of other "plexi" type amps out there and decided to go with metroamp because of what I had heard on other forums, youtube and their price. I am very happy I did. This thing rocks and from what they told me it will only sound better as I break it in. I am currently using Scumback H55 speakers. With the master volume I have plenty of gain and do not need any pedals whatsoever. Roll back the volume and it cleans up very nicely. Thanks metroamp. I am now a believer!!!!!!
