You could have bought the kit and had the same amp everyone has more or less or you can have something unique that turns out to sound unigue in a good way as well. Tell you what. Ive had a 68 Bandmaster Head chassis, cab and trans. set around for a few years and Ive been building one thing or another in it. Its been my experimenting amp. At worst you have it for that and if you choose to do a kit in the future you wont need some large things like the OT, board, filter cans, tubes etc...

True. Its been quite a learning experience.

That was me previously (obviously). For some reason the board doesn't log me in automatically even though I check that box each time I log in.

Question - what do I do with the secondary center tap? Ground it to a nearby ground lug?

Yeah, ground it at a lug, unless your board has the .022uF caps at the very end, then you might ground the caps and tap all at the same place.

The indicator lamp on the Laney was some LED affair, I'm not sure where it was attached to and I can't find it on the schematic.

It was simply grounded to the chassis, not powered directly off of the heater wires.

Would this be a 6.3VAC thing? I can't imagine it is 120VAC. I do not know how to wire it now.

Hmmm. Was it attached to ground by way of a pair of resistors? That would make it a 6.3v lamp. Your getting a Marshall PT which has a CT'd 6.3 supply so you wont need to do that but you could really use whatevr you want. Whatever fits in the hole. huh...

I thought it was just a piece of buss wire right to the end of the buss wire for the pots.

Am I just missing it on the schematic? Could it be they left it off?

I dont have many schems that include the lamp. I guess thats like a mechanical thing that hasnt anything to do with the circuit operation. Just measure the hole and put whetevr you want in there.

The hole is one of those 1/4" things and the "lamp" was just an LED.

I figure I'll wire it from the heaters and see if it works.

Hoffman has one of those large LEDs that mount in a 1/4" hole

Theres even instructions on how to hook it up to the 6.3 supply. You could always drill out that hole to fit other lamp types.

Bingo. That will do the trick.

My suspicion is the thing was DC wired previously, since it grounded to the buss (no resistors), so i'll need to convert to run on AC, or simply get a new lamp.
