Step 6 is done. As I type this, Let There Be Rock is spinning on vinyl, providing enormous amounts of inspiration. :)

Your bias resistors (across pins 1 - 8 of the power tube sockets) are wrong. You have 100 Kohm (brown-black-yellow) resistors there, but they should be 1 ohm (brown-black-gold).

Common mistake, you're the third person I've seen do that in the last month or so...

Looks good so far! 8)

I don't have Brown-black-gold in my kit... ?

I have brown, black yellow
brown, black, orange
silver, red, brown
red, purple, orange
yellow, purple, orange

thoughts? I don't know how to measure them to see what they are...

I went to the only electronics supply place (besides radio shack) in town to get the 1ohm resistors I don't seem to have, as well as replace the 100Kohm resistors I used by accident. These are the ones they had, which are ever so slightly larger in size and slightly more blue in color. Will these work the same? Are these right? They didn't have them in the same tone of grey...

Thanks for the help guys! Lifesavers.

I'm on step 7. The output jacks come with a plastic washer on each. Are you supposed to use those washers or no? It seems like with the plexi panels in place, the nut for the output jack doesn't get turned onto the jack as far as it should if you use the washers.

It's the funny little fiber washers that come with the jacks that I end up leaving out. You need the black plastic washers for the right look. I think two fiber washers for inside the chassis come with each jack, I usually leave out at least one.

Thanks Flames. I kinda figured as much...

Step 7 is done. First I fixed the incorrect resistors on the output sockets:

And here's Step 7 completed:

Step 8 is done. Installed switches and wired the standby, installed the lamp and fuse holder, wired the power transformer primary, and installed the internal filter cap.

Note: Top tab had to be removed (bent back and forth with a pliers to remove, filed rough edge off) from the filter cap holster because the tab went past the base of the chassis.

In my kit, there are two sizes of the yellow sozo caps. Are the small ones .022uf and the large the .1uf? They aren't labeled as such. If so, the .1uf looks a lot bigger than the one in the instruction pics that's being strapped onto the back of the presence pot.

Edit: Found the answer with the code over at the sozo site. Large one is .1uf.

HOWEVER, these have a line around them at one end. Is there polarity involved with these? If so does the line go on the pin 2 side or pin 3 side?

Thanks wallace. :)

But on the back of the presence pot it goes up and down, neither end points toward tubes. lol Does the direction of the cap make a difference on the back of the presence pot?

It doesnt matter. Its a non polorized cap.
