DTNA is a great riff to dial in these kinds of tones with an emphasis on good note separation, I adore that bridge to the solo, for all it's simplicity, it is something that you can sink your teeth into.Tone Slinger wrote:Hope everything goes well with your surgery Love the clip, amps real natural. You brought out great charaecteristics in the 'DTNA' sections

Hope the knee gets better Phil.
That sounds great. Lot of tight spank but you can tell when you lay off the pick hand it lightens up. This is exactly what the modelers can not do. There is no easing off the gas with them. Its all or none.

The 132 is what he's using, a 2". Do you mean the Mercury Magnetics 2" he used in a build a while back?Strat78 wrote:That's one of Chris's 132's that I had in another amp. The heftier OT's are a great match with the 2203/LarMar setup. I've been playing musical OT's lately. The dark brown board looks great with 1w Pihers.emmjaydubya wrote:Wow, sick build!! Good luck on your knee tomorrow!

Re: Stock 68 spec W/2"OT and such...
Sorry guys, I'm totally down for the count here and these pain meds ain't cutting it right now. That last clip was with one of Chris's 2" 1.75k OT's. I have an identical 2203/LarMar build sitting right next to it with the Merc 2" 2.2k OT, I'll try to do some better clips next week between those two amps. I also put one of Chris's 1998 OT's into my NOS 12XXX build. That amp had the 2" Merc in there before, so it will be interesting to hear some before and after clips of that amp as well. If I don't like the 1998 I'll switch in a 1.5" 2.2k Merc OT next to see if it sounds the same as the 2" 2.2k Merc.

Hey that sounds great ! I bet Ralle will be stoppin' by for that.
In the meantime ya' need better dope.
I know that's masking the problem, but if it means less pain while in therapy/rehabilitation - get the good stuff. Up those Med's ...so you won't feel the electrical shock while you're tinkering around in those amps.

Sometimes the universe is on my side, miraculously the curtains matched my bomb rack! Finally found the crowning part for my 12301 clone, a 1970 super lead choke with brackets and all.

Those chokes with the brackets showed up between 69 and 72 going by 100w superlead pics at amp archives. I get conflicting accounts as to what they are rated, I think mine is 5Hy. Maybe someone can fill us in on what these chokes were.JimiJames wrote:
