Pretty cool visit Bennybennyx wrote:The lower head is a 34, the upper head is a mk7 mod.....On Rocket call these heads #1 and #2....both amps are late 80's jcm 80
So Frank said " come on, take number one and number 2 for Benny" that's cool

So now can say " i have take a piece of history with my hands" ...mk7 don't sound like 34 or 36 but sound very good, it's an old school metal mod, sound punchy and compressed but have good dynamic...

It's nice to see some action in this thread.
Here's a current clip of my amp with some more tweaks. I basically replaced all the ceramic discs with 100v Multilayer C0G's, except the tone stack and PI. I also put in some metal film resistors on the cathodes and lowered my guitar neck tone cap to 15n.

Try some CMF65 / RN65 or CMF60 / RN60 plate resistors in the first couple of stages.BRMSlash wrote:It's nice to see some action in this thread.![]()

I wonder if Frank uses the .1uF output caps at the PI, in the amps you played? I've seen pics of the big, orange, Sprague caps in some of his mods. Not sure if they were polyester or polypropylene.bennyx wrote:Yes with 2 shield tricks work good....i have follow the Frank's advices point to point....i have always believe that Frank said the truth....rockgod212 wrote:wow, so 2 treble peakers are involved...........nice, im getting ready to open my amp up, so thanx for sharing benny.![]()

Didn't we have much discussion about the .68uF presence cap in #34? I'm surprised to see that you now have .68uF in your #36 spec.

Re: S.I.R. 100W SuperLead Schematic pt. II
We don't have any type of scheme/cap discussion with Frank on the meet.....after several lives i have decided that 680n make 34 and 36 more manageble (like Frank advice).....just a little smooth, more usefull on every situation.....and don't change voicing....i believe that Frank have used it....but on second time some amp tech have change it on Slash 34 .....Santiago said 100n.....probably 34 was born with 680n and have a little re-mod by other tech...680n don't like at many tech....but is stock on late 70's 1959 jmp cause are a very bright amp....39 was more smooth for her components....i believe that in a UYI period Slash have 680n....100n is a modern change
