Oh ok if you say so, you tell so many different story's it hard to keep up with you.

Well either Glenn or you are not telling the truth, I would tend to believe the guy who was actually there doing the mod with Levi.

on old video that i have remove (BRBS 36 research and development) you was see clear....i always have a 77' jmp.....and i have discovered on second time that was a cousin amp of original 36......casuality......but fuckin great.....i have buy it 6-7 years ago from Liverpool.....
anyway ,each person believe that he want believe.....no problem....seems to me very strange that Glenn remind a particular cap or component and don't remind the real maker of 39 superkill mod that are more easy to remind......so for Frank, Glenn don't say completely the truth for make publicity to Caswell.....seems that Glenn and Caswell are very friends......but i want to believe that Glenn have confused after several years and several amps and several works and mods and people......i hope......
i don't want think that Glenn have bad intentions.....but something don't touch......
Ok my bad Benny, great that you have a 77 amp

I don't think we will ever know the real story.

No we won't but we can know the right sound by just using our ears.

I think if you have the wrong cathodes in place you end up adding more components and changing more stock components to try and compensate...when the root cause is that the cathodes are wrong. These kinds of tones sound so 'choked' and restricted and the amp loses its feel and sensitivity.

When you get the right cathodes you find there's no need to add bright caps and treble peakers...extra attenuation resistors...or modify anything in thd stock circuit really. The mod ends up being so simple with a minimal number of additional components required. It also fits with everything from glenn frank and Tim. ..the only parts that never fit are what Frank allegedy tells benny...

Sorry to interrupt the thread, but can someone PM me with the #36 layout? The links on page 140 no longer work. Thank you.

I couldt stray in 4 different versions of the #36, which I've drawn back in 2011:

- everyone_else_version
- dukeamp_version
- ryu-mod_version_1
- ryu-mod_version_2
The fault almost always is sitting in front of the amp

How about the "everyone else version"? I'd love to start there. :shred:

So I got rid of the grid stoppers on the 3rd and 4th stages, lowered all the snubbers to 150p and lowered the B+ to 285v at the cathode follower node. It's pretty bright, so had to turn the presence off and turn down the treble to around 3.5.

Interesting tone you've developed there mate. Very spongy yet buzzy at the bottom end. You must have a highly developed mod to be fine tuning the B+ voltage. Respect.
