OK, here's the Scumbacks fresh out of the box with factory break in. Exact same settings. Much nicer :)

Here I share a clip, not the recording quality of the samples that you do, but it made me want to share it. Apart from the poor quality recording, guitarist should practice more lol :peace:

The recording is made with the phone .. sorry :palm:

Thanks for sharing reychapa. It sounds pretty good for a phone recording.

hi BRM slash.

is this the 25 watt version of the PVC or the 65watt?

it really sounds like GNR now. i think you are done and should not touch anything.

Thanks. I'm using the 65w version of the H75-PVC.

I'm not quite done. All those 120k plate resistors were too much without changing the cathodes as well. I've dropped back to only one on the 3rd stage and lowered the cathode to compensate for the added compression of the increased plate. I also dropped my 4th stage cathode back to 1k, as 1k5 was a little bit congested, although I think 1k2 might be optimal but I don't have one to try.

The change in speakers has helped push me to increase the B+ dropping resistor between the 1st and 2nd tube as some buzziness was more apparent. I previously had a 5k6 there, but 8k2 or 10k seems to clean it up better. I've temporarily put in a 12k until my order for some correct value carbon comps arrive. I did try the correct values using some 2W metal oxides, but they sounded a bit stiff. So it's carbon comps in the B+ line for me.

I must say my amp was sounding pretty sweet last night.

hmm it really sounds good the ay it is already. but why with all the experiments?

why not try going just "almost" stock specs and add a stage?

i also wonder how it would sound like with the H75 PVC 25 watts.

I guess I'm never quite satisfied and it's a bit of a hobby. I'm trying to get the right sound with current production parts where possible.

What volune are you at? Are you using any attenuator or ppimv?

My recordings are at full volume. I am using a PPIMV that is set to max.

so you are not using the ppimv because you have that on ten, effectively bypasses it?
