my amp don't sound thin....my problem is the recording.....i use a very low volume and a phone....that's sound thin....not the amp...and i don't have a sm57 mids...Frank have personally said me, face to face, that 34 and 36 was a bright amps, and now he have change his taste for mod the amps, now he don't like the 34 & 36 original sound.... so he make mods more smooth.....also the 34 that he made now, isn't exactly the real 34....he have change the mod for a more smooth sound...MK7 is an attempt to recreate a 36 similar sound but more smooth...none have the 36 real specs....Frank don't send the specs to anyone......Frank corrects the schemes with it's personal taste, for make a mod that makes sense to his ears, but not send to anyone the 36 real specs......has helped over the years a lot of people by correcting or giving advice ....but he never gave or revealed voluntarily the real specs of 36....and never will.......several techs starts their career making bright mods....between the years everybody changes the ears on the sound.....also Caswell....and many other techs....the actual caswell 39 is more smooth than the original 80's 39.....i have meet recently a guy that he have buy a Levi mod, he have ask to Frank a 34-36 combo mod on his amp....i have listen that mod and sound more smooth of real 34 and 36, good sound but isn't exactly satisfied....not sound the same......Frank don't mod in the same way of the past....snakepit86 wrote:what duke i think was meant to say its that the #36 isnt thin sounding, opposite to bennys design, duke stablishes that the amp was full sounding with bass mid an treble freqs and sounded BIG. I think and im testing the mid hump part, listen to duke recordings he got a sparkly and mid hump sound, it never wents out, ohh the speaker helps toobudubum92 wrote:If #36 was a balanced sounding amp, what made the right channel of afd harsh bright and stingy? Could it be the g12h30 75hz that made it so? Or maybe a pedal infront or just plain post eq?

Sounding good! Nice and crisp highs and everything else is nicely balanced as it should be. Sounds very alive

Thanks duke for your feedback about GE7
Love your clips, they sound great.
I really must record samples with my 36 (don t know if the mod is the real one) but it sounds great and not thin at all.
34 sounds thinner though.

Sounds good, apart from the recording. You've got the power tubes and speaker right IMHO. Still waiting for a better recording.
