mission amps tweed deluxe (help)
So, I put this little devil together a little while ago, but shes been giving me quite a hard time. I'm running into some major hum/grounding problems??? With the amp turned fully up, its just screaming with hiss. Plus, when I hit the low E, the amp is producing a kind of broken sound. Not in the cool, tweed deluxe/neil young broken kind of sound, just bad. Some alterations from the original kit would include the mercury magnetics 59 OT. Any advice would be so very greatly appreciated.

I wish I could offer some help but to be honest I really don't know enough about electronics to help. Maybe if you posted something besides pictures somebody here could help - schematics, what you have done so far to try and fix the problem etc..

I'm about to take the plunge and buy a Mission Amps 5E3 kit. Have you solved your problem and what's your feedback on the kit and the amp's tone ?! Would you recommend Mission Amps?

In my experience, when I come across hiss, it's usually a preamp tube. Sometimes you just get bad ones. Try swapping some around and see if that makes a difference.
