This '69 Standard is the new 'family member' and it has more character than every SG or Les Paul I ever played. It tops my '74 SG Standard by far and I'm pretty sure it's the wood - along with some other major differences. It came with 57 classics - I have no reason to complain about this so far, but tell me what you think of them. Anyway, I love it. Any other late 60's Standard players around here?

Dont let 'Worldoftone' get an eye on that Strat!! He'll pull it into his all consuming Strat vortex!! He's like the Star Trek "Borg" of Stratsburg: "your Strat will be... absorbed"!!!

   /

(seriously, his Strat collection is off the hook, and I KNOW he's gonna jones for that fine piece of yours, Fritz!!)

That strat shows just the right enough amount of wear on it... and it's quite a different look... very cool.

How's the trem on the SG? I love SGs, but prefer the tune-o-matic setup.

The trem on the SG is crap from a technical standpoint. I don't use it, like the looks and don't care about the rest so far. The guitar stays in tune like this. When using it, the whole bridge moves back and forth... Playing doesn't feel different than with a tailpiece. But different mounting different sound, I'd like to know more about that - this guitar sounds awesome. And you don't have to worry about the neckjoint at all - it's thick and solid, long tenon. No volute, no Made in USA, no angled neckjoint - 68/69. Maybe I'll get some witch hats, a Trem cover and switchplate. It had a repair at the electrics - done well.

The Strat is nothing perfect - 3 bolt, heavy ash, had a Floyd Rose, rude woodwork under the pickguard, neckjoint doesn't fit at all, but hey, it's solid, reliable, works fine and sounds great. I'm so 'burned in' on this instrument. Yes it's the Yngwie Strat I mentioned. Now it has to play the blues all the time. :D

Cool SG. Do you have the cover for the trapeze? Helps balance the neck and strap position.

Thanks for your nice comments boys! That's fun. I'm gonna post some sound clips in a few days, as soon as I'm ready to record. Yes fill, nothing can beat the looks of a worn Strat, and WOT, you seem to be straight on the way to an overdose here LOL.
I like that chunky worn maple neck too. The spaghetti logo is kinda impossible on this 3 bolt neck. The whole neck is kinda strange - it's a very thin headstock and if the logo had been replaced, this must have happened a looong time ago.
I looked for a cover for that SG trem already - Allparts seems to be the only source here, but an Gibson Logo on it would be fine... So I'll watch ebay for that. Any other suggestions? The SG is well balanced even without it.
