The trem on the SG is crap from a technical standpoint. I don't use it, like the looks and don't care about the rest so far. The guitar stays in tune like this. When using it, the whole bridge moves back and forth... Playing doesn't feel different than with a tailpiece. But different mounting different sound, I'd like to know more about that - this guitar sounds awesome. And you don't have to worry about the neckjoint at all - it's thick and solid, long tenon. No volute, no Made in USA, no angled neckjoint - 68/69. Maybe I'll get some witch hats, a Trem cover and switchplate. It had a repair at the electrics - done well.
The Strat is nothing perfect - 3 bolt, heavy ash, had a Floyd Rose, rude woodwork under the pickguard, neckjoint doesn't fit at all, but hey, it's solid, reliable, works fine and sounds great. I'm so 'burned in' on this instrument. Yes it's the Yngwie Strat I mentioned. Now it has to play the blues all the time.
