Hey guys dont we have a diode available in the Metro store thats more of a fast recovery type that looks the same as the small ones thats just a bit bigger in size? I am not talking about the freds,I just cant remember part numbers :oops: thanks bluze

You are probably thinking of UF4007's or UF5408's, don't see them in the store though.

I thought George was sending out the UF4007's in place of the standard 1N4007's for a while.

I just found 4 of the uf diodes I had left over,but they have thick leads on them, going to be tough to get in the stock Metro turret? I do have some freds but I am not shure How they solder in? I think front side is anode,any body have a picture of 50w with freds? thanks in advance! Steve

Your FREDs will have a small K (cathode) and A (anode) stamped on the tab.

Thanks George! I should have looked closer at them :oops: I am going to give them a shot and see how they work in this build, if you remember I had them in another 50w you worked on for me about 2 years ago and the amp sounded good.
