What does this OT do different than the others,and do you need a variaic too

Well from what I've read and heard here on the forums, it has a very "Early EVH" type quality to it. But it most certainly outperforms an origional (this isnt necisarily good) Ed didnt have these in his amps back then. What he had would be close to the Metro dagnall reissue I think. The variac is up to you, it can be used or not be used. The voltage switching Power Transformer George sells can similate a variac.
