the chassis is in the headbox while u are doing this test or is out laying on abench?
is there alum flashing inside the head box or just a wood box?
figured around 9 or so on the bright channel.
The chassis is on a bench out of the head box. There is an aluminum sheet in the bottom of the head box.

Thanks for the PM on the .1's. I just sent Sparky a PM to buy 4 of them.

I now have a custom made drain cable like yours with a 220k resistor in-line. My understanding is to connect 1 clip to ground and then 1 clip to pin 1 of V1. My only question is how do you see/confirm the voltage on the caps. I have tried reading the voltage with my DMM by clipping the black lead to the ground post on one of my can caps and the red lead to to one of the other 2 posts on the can cap and then powering it on. I do not see any voltage near readings of 450 or 500?

Also in your drawing you show the 3 - 32's, where does the 1 - 16 go?

sounds good. meter set to highest dc voltage setting. to check a cap for voltage clip black lead to the chassis and then touch the red lead on any of the positives of the caps.

arrow showing one can cap under the board - look again.

also note in the drawing that each 32u can cap is only using one of the positives of the can - so we are only using one positive and one ground or each dual 32u can. your dual 50's on your amp are probably all, whats called jumpered=using both sides of the cans.

Is all of the voltage in the amp past/after the PT DC?

Thanks for the clarification!

At the beginning of this topic, you mentioned the following for 12xxx spec:
dual 16u preamp
32u PI cap
16u screens
50u mains
Curious, If I am understanding the spec correctly and I just ordered 32's for the screens, should I order a couple more 16's in case we need them later to get the dutch treat? :D
