I just got word from 2 out of 6 colleges that I applied to. I'm officially accepted to UCLA and NYU! Man, it feels good to know that I won't grow up as just some poor musician some day. I'll grow up as a poor musician with a college degree! Score! Sorry about the old thing, i just couldn't resisit

Good call Andy
. George, I actually applied undecided to UCLA, and Music Business to NYU. I figured it would be helpful to know the industry if I want to achieve the dream of rock stardom, but if that doesn't pan out
I can always work for a record label to keep degenerate idiots like 50 cent from raping and pillaging the Billboard Top 5. Thanks for the advice too. I suppose New York and LA are good places to learn about life though (although the experience is probably similar in intensity to taking a drink from a fire hose). Well, I'm also here to listen. Got any lessons for me? I'm gonna need em in the big city.
Aaron

Good call George, thanks. Luckily, my brother is graduating from Harvard Law this spring (thankfully, my parents aren't holding me to the same standard), and he already got a job offer in NYC, so he can look things over for me. I can also live off of his income when I'm a musician! (Haven't flown that one by him yet
Hassan Chop, thanks for the advice. I've gotten similar advice from a lot of people, but what goes through my head is exactly what Dan said. I think of the music scene in LA, and I picture all these Kelly Osbournes walking around, bathing in their pig-like slorishness (slore, of course being a tactful combination of slut and whore), thinking they're shit don't stink. Also, New York's a pretty hip place to be. But yeah, the weather is nice, and there probably will be a lot of hot women at UCLA. However, I'm pretty low on self-discipline, which worries me, and I'm afraid I might never get my shit together if I go to LA, and who knows if those hot chicks will give me the time of day? So, tough choice. If you want, keep listing pros and cons. And Andy, I don't really like beer that much, too many bad incidents. Jack, however, is a different story
See what I mean about low self-discipline?

I'm from L.A. I grew up there and lived there for about 30 years. I never saw Kelly or Ozzy or Sharon or pretty much anybody you've seen on TV. Those are just the people who get on TV. They have too much money and not enough taste. (That's why they'll pay $80 or more for a frickin' T-shirt.) Unless you're big-time wealthy already, you won't be running into them. They hang out in different places than normal people.
There's plenty of culture in L.A. New Yorkers don't like to admit it, but then again, they seem to think that New York is the cultural center of the universe. But they never seem to mind all that nice weather and lack of claustrophobia when they get to CA. After all, they keep moving there in gigantic herds...

I knew we should've taken that left turn at Albuquerque!
That does about sum up NYersHassan Chop wrote:they seem to think that New York is the cultural center of the universe.

I am an east coast person. Things are generally happy and upbeat in LA. I hate it. I guess I like the miserable truth over fake happiness staring at me. Id rather get some asshole taking out his drama by being mean to me while Im waiting in line then some ditsy dumb chick with a big fake smile on her face making small talk to me like she really gives a fuck. Thats an east coast attitude for you. Fuck being nice. Be real!

That was me dammit!
I get what Aarons sayin. Maybe you can only get it if you grew up in NY or NJ and visit LA. If you were born over there then your biased. Its not like I saw famous arogant people when Im in LA. Its that everyone (or at least many many people) THINK their famous and they dress and act like it. Not that things arent clicky everywhere but in LA the click system is in full swing and its all about popularity relating to looks. If you grew up in LA Im sure your used to it and say why dont those assholes just keep their problems to themselves and stop being miserable fucks. Again not everyone. Just the ratio of those types to normal people.

You want traffic go to NY. But at least NY has a mass transit system to speak of. Not that there arent traffic riddin 12 lane highways in Philadelphia but I swear Ive never seen so many cars on one road going nowhere as there is on the Santa Monica BLVD.
