Most of the versions on "Jimi plays Berkeley" are the ones on the "Hendrix in the West" LP. I learned "Red House" and Little Wing" from that record.
And "Johnny B. Goode" is worth the price alone !

I have every one made and they all suck. But the subject is worth the pain of watching crap videos. If you buy from Amazon put them in your wish list and when the price drops below $10 for a good used one buy it.

Yeah, the camera crews seemed to be stoned on all the videos from this period...even more than the musicians. I think the worst is the Cream video from the Royal Albert Hall. Even the guy who cut the film was stoned. Clapton changes guitars AND shirts mid-song, and is permanently in and out of focus..

I say get "Rainbow Bridge". The performance was great, and shows Hendrix at a 'heightened' level, not necissarily stoned, but pun intended. The sound on some of that stuff was a bit compressed, but still good, sorta like early EVH in a way. I think his aggressiveness on 'Foxey Lady" that day was at a "Woodstock" level. His solo in "Voodoo Chile" was right out of outerspace. The whole of the video is good, with lots of stoned hippie surfer's and the 'wizard' guy was a trip. I love Hendrix's dialogue in the film, when they are getting stoned and drunk in that cabin. That clopatra shit he was talking tripped me out. In a weird way, Hendrix knew what he was talking about, and made alot of sense :) .

stoned video crew? i guess it's to be expected! maybe they were trying to give you that "you are there" effect? i seem to remember being on a trip (way back) & wanting to take a picture to show everybody else! haha...

Man, I really didnt dig that show much. Hendrix seemed to 'not be there', as almost the entire set , imo, failed to spark any believability. I think that was among the worst I ever heard him play (as well as Atlanta Pop Festival). His sound was BAD to say the least. I did like "In From The Storm" from that show though.
