+1... always such a downer to hear things like this, but see how we are all so similar? I was LOCKED on that Greatest Hits CD driving through Florida this summer. I must have listened to the solo's in "There Goes Another Love Song" 150 times, ESPECIALLY the 2nd solo, which is Hughie's. And forget about the air guitar to "Green Grass And High Tides". A great player. He'll be missed. To the first 5 seconds of this clip, I say "you too, bro, you too". http://youtube.com/watch?v=8IGsDYotzTEyngwie308 wrote:http://www.guitarjamdaily.com/index.php ... &Itemid=46
Loved his country/rock/blues Stratocaster stylings, The Outlaws Greatest Hits, I played on my CD player as I drove across the country, and it made me feel great about being an American in America, the wide open fields..
Such classic songs, High Tides of course, love their version of Ghost Riders In The Skies too.
Same vibe as Skynrd to me hearing the Outlaws, they were in a class with the Allmans too.![]()

I''ve been playing along with Green Grass and Ghost Riders Live Version for many years, and I absolutely love the way it sounds through my 12000 with my SSH Guiltar (Same guitar as the my VH clip), just flipped to the single coil Antiquites, and using the volume knob on the guitar to go from clean to scream. Been a fan for decades. Dieing in your 50s is too young. RIP Hughie Thomasson
