The pickup makes sound though. He showed me in the parking lot. He had these little leads attached to the input of a tiny 7"X9" Marshall portable amp he then attached the leads to the leads on the pickup. He then tapped on the magnets of the pickup. They were hot. They made plenty of sound when tapped on. Strange. Maybe got a crappy pickup or a crappy meter? The date code on it says 3 - 16 -67 - SC

As far as the stagger goes? If it is staggered it sure is the lightest stagger I have seen. I think I got dupped.
Hey, BG. I GOTTA think you've got a blown meter. It should read SOMETHING, as long as the leads from the meter to the pickup wires are good. You should be able to check them if the meter has a continuity function. If the pup is making sound thru an amp, it HAS to give some reading on a meter, so I would suspect the meter. That date code sounds like the real thing, and if that pup is a relic, whoever did it really tried hard to bogey that thing up. Shoot out a post when you've got this figured out... sounds intriguing. 8)
