Just heard back from Bareknuckle the Rebel Yell PUP has a DCR of 14.5K . .
Wow thats higher then I would of expected . . would imagine that would over take a classic paul sound correct ? I like a (dark vintage-with a Super Charger ) type of sound . . I would think 14.5 would create some of the metal tone fizzys ????
Thanks

Rebel Yell is not a classic PAF sound, the resistance is higher, and it is for modern Les Pauls, and great with effects ala Steve Stevens sound and tone.

Did Tim confirm whether it is wound with thinner gauge wire than a typical PAF though? I'm fairly sure I've read the RY uses 43awg wire versus the more typical 42awg in a PAF-type humbucker. That means turn for turn it'll have higher DCR without a corresponding increase in output.ChuckLogan wrote:Just heard back from Bareknuckle the Rebel Yell PUP has a DCR of 14.5K . .

It's one of the reasons why DCR isn't the key to pickup output that everyone assumes.
