i 'm one of the few (i think?) people that like how they have grown. i'm not all that into listening to "working man" anymore so to speak, i like the changes they have gone through. i know alot of guys didn't care for so much synth work & i can understand that, but i think it was part of their evolution as a group. i always had hoped rock would advance into something much bigger than blues with a kick, & catch on with the populace eventually. i guess it's like hoping the masses would see the greatness in a game of chess over watching jerry springer hehe? i'm blathering (again) i certainly didn't mean to drag the thread away from our man ALEX!

That was a great link :D Alex Lifeson Syndrome....too funny

When I saw thier show in Sept. I've got to admit not knowing a good number of those tunes, because of that era with the digital synth stuff.

But, I was not dissapointed with one tune played at all and there were some great surprise tunes.

Passage to Bangkok

Witch Hunt from Movings Pictures

Killer version of Summertime Blues

sorry for the brief spoiler

And one thing Alex did that was Very, very cool was he was switching guitars , fast as lightning after nearly every song.

No tuning issues on thier tour....really really impressive show.

I went through the whole Gallien-Krueger amp phase because of Alex.

Gk 2100 - SEL ......it's not tube but, it is bad ass for chorusy 80's stuff.
120 watts per channel stereo...fun amp!

Do a youtube search for some of Alex' live rants in the middle of La Villa Strangiato. There's one about Paris Hilton that's pretty funny....and another about what goes through each member's head when they're playing. Funny to see Neil and Ged about lose it trying to keep a straight face.

He did one about "animals in the zoo having a smoke" on the Vapor Trails tour that had us dying laughing.

There's one about "meat bees eating a guy's sandwich" that is pretty funny.

Even if the man had never laid down the solo work he did on:

La Villa Strangiato
Working Man
YYZ

He'd still be outstanding just from the chordal work he does........
Let's get going, 'cause there's too much music, too little time!!!!

I saw them at the ST. Pete Times Forum and they are very tight live. Fucking Note for Note. It was amazing. You really get your money's worth at a Rush concert. Consumate pros.
