Snake Oil Strings
Had problems with getting these strings in the past so I didnt really give them a trial. Anyone else here play them? What do you think?
I ordered a few sets from the site but that was nearly 2 weeks ago. I guess its still the same deal then with the waiting game.

I use them. Great strings. Don't know how Dean does it, or why they are different from brand x, but they are the best I've experienced for intonation...particularly how well they intonate over a long period of time. I ordered a bunch of sets (nickel and nickel plate versions) way back when Dean was just working off of email, so I don't know how efficiently things are running now. I think I waited awhile to receive them as well, but wasn't really worried about it. IMHO I think they are worth it. If you didn't already, search SOS strings at the gear page...alot of testimonials there.

I havent tried that much because Ive pretty much been set with pyramids forever. When I was playing heavily I just used EBs because I did occasionally break a string and I always forgot to wipe down and all that so stringing the guitar with $15-$20 strings wasnt practical. But yeah pyramids were my thing so I havent done much experimenting but Im trying the SOBs.

I switched from GHS to Snake Oils about 8 months back. In retrospect, the Boomers sucked, but they were cheap and easy to come by. I've yet to have a negative experience with Snake Oils. The current set is over a month old, and I've only had one string break (last week), the B, after a few days of glorious whammying. When my stash ran low, I tried going to DR's, but they don't touch the Snakeoils.
Hope they work out for you,
Travis
