(and lets face it... not all players (like 56goldtop), but most players would opt for a wicked top over a plain top if they can afford it. In the land of REAL '58-'60 LP's, the quality of the top will always rule, even over sound. Stupid, but true.)NY Chief wrote:so the killer top makes it play better?![]()

Yeah, that is cool that he did that, isnt it?? I always try to get that to sound as seamless as possible!!! Takes a little practice, though!!NY Chief wrote:Hey, fill! Cool website for 30th St Guitars.

I personally like 'aged' flame tops, Greeny is a perfect example of what they are calling lemon drop tops these days, even though it is well weathered, you can still see the flame and it has aged nicely.
Too many of these Vintage Reissue LP's imo, have ridiculous tops that were never used in the late fifties.
The LPF and MLPF are chock full of my flame is better than your flame threads, and the complete rebuilding of these new guitars with aftermarket parts, is totally out of control.
It is amusing to watch people spend their money, but sad that Gison is still to corporate to build the correct guitar.
