I thought his playing was great - wild and expressive the guy would just rip up that Gibson ES and Bigsby combo. He had that same "hot-rodded hard rock" attitude that Edward had - but he was BRITISH!!! (something of a rarity

)

i had always assumed he had played a les paul until recently. which is funny, as they'd have been one of the bands that got me interested in playing the instrument (thirty years ago, but i never actually got around to trying until twenty years ago).

the sweet stuff have is compilations, but i don't ever recall hearing use of a trem on any of their songs. can you tell me what hits it may have been used on, coz i just haven't got a clue what to do.

"Desolation Boulevard" was a standard issue to all the early teen white punks in America when it was released in 1974. If you were between the ages of 10 and 16 that year, your little body was most likely addicted to and fueled by sugar and you were singing these songs with great fervour and furious anger. This album was a catalyst for all the hard rock bands that would follow later on, as the members of those bands would always remember it was Sweet that took them from "The Monkees" into pissed off rock and roll...

Andy Scott put the hard rock attitude into Sweet.

talk about one of the most covered bands, as far as, people re-doing thier tunes.

Def Leppard,Sweet Savage,Twisted Sister,Lita Ford,Joan Jett,Poison and the list goes on!

I guess he used a Peter Cornish pedal board with EHMM delays, MXR pedals and a Hornsby Skewes treble booster.

Sweet FA and Set Me Free are awesome- it would be great to hear some NEW arrangements of those classic tunes.

They had a great analog sound- great drummer and bass player too
