Replacing the original -71 tranny w. Drake 2 or Dagnall...

Post by Squier82 » Tue Jan 08, 2008 6:40 am

Hi Guys,

I've been thinking to replace my -71 Super Lead's original tranny w. George's Drage 2" or the Dagnall 1,5" one. That's because I'm not quite sure of the quality of my original tranny since the amp sounds a little thin to me. Also I would like to get the amp sound more like a 67' era plexi.
Do you think this would help?

This is also one of my main gigging amps at the moment so I'd like to make sure that I don't blow the original tranny...

Hey man,
I'm thinking of replacing my output tranny in my 74 mk2 100 watt. I did all the modifications I could to the circuit but it stiill sounds harsh or brash when cranked up. It has an ear piercing high end to it still.

Check out the thread in the marshall forum titled "calling rockstah" 12xxxxx series". Lots of cool info there.
