Post a review once you suss it out!! Im really curious about one of these. Is yours an octave up or down, and how does it sound if you're playing chords thru it? 8) 8)

I went for the Dunlop, and I am very pleased with it thus far. It is an octave up, and it reacts exactly as you'd expect it to with chords. It is definately not "Polyphonic Friendly", in the sense that it doesn't perfectly replicate whole chords, but as with any device it yields many cool tones, especially if you adjust your picking, like just brushing the strings etc. From the short trial thru a Crate 15 watt practice amp at work, I get the BoG vibe from it, so thru my rig, it should work nicely.

I'm giving it its first workout at a jam on Saturday, I'll have more detail for you at that time.

This thing is awesome! It does a near perfect Who Knows, even though I don't have a perfect setup for it. Feeding it into the fuzz with the guitar volume and tone rolled back was the key. It kept the octave very pure without losing volume like you would normally when you back off the volume. I turned the tone to about 7/8 and the volume back till it gave me what I wanted. Some said it is too bright, but my roll back/fuzz method balanced it off, and even straight (no fuzzface) it wasn't that bright IMO. Nice Jimi octaving from ten up, and lots of cool tones below. Even worked ok on Major chords if i eliminated the low 5th, not like perfect octave, but a useable sound for a riff. It does a great BoG, and is servicable for Purple Haze as well, though it sounds almost to smooth for Purple Haze. Very smooth to my ears. I kept the fuzz knob on the Octavio at minimum and the Level at max, as Dunlop suggests, and for once, they got it right! They description of what the knobs do isn't that accurate, but its easy to figure them out.

Its not a bad buy either, I'd buy another if I needed to.

After much self debating, I've decided to go with what you guys said and just go 50's style. the only difference being that my middle position will be wired out of phase. The way I see it, I've got 4 conductor wiring, so if I'm hell bent for switching later, its not hard to swap a couple pots.

Cheers,

Travis

P.S Fill, the octavio review is in the above post.
