Home audio DIY builds

Post by wdelaney72 » Sat Jan 05, 2008 10:59 am

I'm considering trying my hand here. Anyone here build a tube based home audio amp?

What's a good place for builds and layouts?

Haven't they reissued the classic Dynaco Stereo 70 amplifier kit? I've still got my dad's original from the mid 60's, but it needs caps and tubes now. Check eBay maybe. or Google it of course.

Definitely head over to www.diyaudio.com

I've been plotting and scheming for awhile now. We'll have to keep each other up to date.

A good friend built a Dynaco kit back in the early 70s. He still has it, and it sounds fantastic.

Cheers

I'm assuming that stuff is from here? Are those ST kits integrated power and preamp?

This thread just reminded me of the two sets of my home stereo speakers that I have to take in to the shop to get looked at. Hopefully it is only the crossover board on both sets

I've still got my dad's old Acoustic Research AR-4's as well, the tweeter adjustement on the backs needs cleaning on both or else the tweeters cut in and out. They really didn't want you to get into those speakers though.

O yes. Takes "anal" to a whole new meaning.
