One Down, One to Go. . .

Post by jfhudak » Thu Feb 21, 2008 3:46 pm

Hey Fellers,

My 57 Reissue is history! A buddy of mine is a collector, so I swapped it for a nice handwired 20w Marshall (with cab) and some other goodies. Great sounding amp!

My 57 was well-used, so I feel like I got a good deal and I needed a smaller amp anyway for practice.

Next to go will be my 54 Reissue. My buddy let me borrow two of his VOS SGs, one with the Maestro and one without to see if I like them. Guess what?

I freaking LOVE SGs!!!

These things are bad ass. So, I'm selling the 54 Custom and using the money to buy a VOS SG with a Maestro on it ala Pete Ham.

Thanks to all who responded to my post about Les Pauls, your support and input was very valuable!

Peace, ;)

Johnny

I still love Les Pauls, but SG's just don't get the lovin' they deserve -- they're killer.
Once upon a time they were Les Pauls if it makes anyone feel better.........

I'm pretty sure it was a 94. I was having a great time today jamming through both my 76 Super Lead and my new 20 watter with my Explorer and those SGs I borrowed. What a great set up.

After I get the SG, I'll probably cool it for awhile and then go for another Firebird, or maybe an SG Special. Those things are great. I love P90s.

And yes, I agree with Flames, SGs don't get nearly enough respect! I never thought in a million years that I would be playing and loving SGs. I guess I just got tired of trying to make something fit that wouldn't.

Check the SG action in these clips:
