TUSQ® nut

Have any of you all tried this type of nut "TUSQ

So far I've tried original fender nuts, graphit and tusq...i prefer tusq over the other two, soundwise, so both my strats have it...

One last thing, i hope its not too late...

I wouldnt buy a slotted one...i've done all the nuts experiments to my RI '57 strat and both the tusq and graphite seemed to have a liiiiiiiitle bit different string spacing so the hi and low Es where too close to the end of the fretboard...

My '57 right now has a custom spacing tusq nut installed (so from now on its blank tusq for me) and as we speak a custom spacing tusq nut is being installed on my CIJ '68, which by the way it has the narrowest spacing i've ever seen on a strat (nut width 40mm while my '57 has 42mm)...

So, the slotted one's may be perfect for some guitars and a little bit off for others...

Just wanted you to know this...i hope i wasnt to late...

Hey freedom thanks man. Yea, I went and got the pre slotted nut, I have no clue on how to cut the slots.

I must admit I've never tried one on an electric, but on my Lowden acoustic it didn't make a vast amount of difference. Probably didn't help that the tech that fitted it for me shaved the saddle too bloody low and buzzy when he set the action. Not good when there is now way less than half of the saddle showing above the bridge, well not good for piezo pickups anyway. I knew I should have done the work myself. Was just being lazy.

Will be fitting a TUSQ blank to my Les Paul Junior copy next weekend though, currently got an adjustable height brass "thing" in so I thought I'd try a nice new TUSQ blank. And they do look a hell of a lot nicer than bone if nothing else.

Mate of mine swears by 'em though, but the jury's still out for me.

The main reason I installed was the low E-B had this gastly flippin plastic sound to them once installed that issue was resolved,but Im still leaning towards the brass nut on my other strat, You will def like thos notes are much clear ring out and tuning well I have a stock trem she helps for sure

Never trusted brass myself. Always found it too soft, and I'm convinced it's soaking up a bit of resonance on the Gordon Smith. Seems alright on my mate's Jaydee hooligan though.
