Ray Monette/Rare Earth

I listened a lot to their Live-Album (the 'bag'-cover) in the last few weeks. Really amazing - but pretty much forgotten... Nothing really good on Youtube from them too - exept the various versions of 'Get Ready'. But they were more than that - a tight and groovin' Motown-Band and Ray Monette had a distinct feeling for fluid licks and driving solos. His sound on this album is awesome - Strat through a Marshall with a Wah and Fuzz - as far as I know. But it sounds kinda different, smoother - maybe it's the recording, anyway, I like it a lot. And Peter Rivera kicks ass. Does anybody remember them? For sure I guess...

Yeah, they had groove for sure. I agree about his tone. Great meat and potatoes Strat/Marshall thing going on.
