Picked up the Nash Strat from Elderly

I had this in lay away and finally paid it off.

Very cool Strat recreation IMO. Plays like a dream and the Lollar PU's are killer. Very authentic.

I went to Elderly Instruments several weeks ago looking for a 60's style Strat. First Frog pulled out a real '63 witha $22,000 tag.... :shock:

After my heart attack, I played it. And then every custom shop and signature Fender they had on the wall. The only thing close was a relic'ed custom shop at $3,500. Granted they didn't have a Rory in stock. I played Chieffo's and it rocks.

After all the Fenders I asked if someone was building more accurate knock offs (hmmm, beating a huge corporation at their own game.....cool concept).
Frog brought in the Nash and it was 90% there compared to the real '63. Now that's more like it. Even better, the price was $1500 with a case. Hell, the customer service was worth a hundred or two alone. (thanks Frog!)

I'll have this at the NY amp show in a few weeks. Everyone is welcome to try it out. It does a mean Hendrix through my 45/100.

sounds interesting, i've been looking for a good early /mid 60's strat reissue but was wondering about buying a custom shop, vintage reissue or some other brand's reproductions and this could be a good alternative.

i'm quiet happy with my mark knopfler with light ash body and rosewood neck , on which i installed some CS 69' pu's ; i really have that 60's bell like tone i was looking for but i'd like another vintage style strat (cause this one is always tuned down half step) .
the neck is slightly less deep than an 62' american vintage ri but it's more oval than c-shaped , so the wood mass is still there.
