So the Metro JTM45/100 is the best sounding, why?

too early to tell right now... The caps and trannies need to settle in a bit but it was the best sounding @ initial startup... Extremely articulate which will only sound even better after 30 hrs or so... I'll pull the power tubes and run an iPod through it for a couple days, that should break in the caps, the trannies will only be broken in through playing

Cogratulations on your new arrival
I was surprised how clean and Fender/Hiwattish mine was at first.
It took at least 20 hours before it bedded in and developed a more Marshally tone. I also put a 500pF bright cap in rather than the 100 and replaced the dead 16uF Sprague atom with a 22uF BC in the preamp (not really big changes).
Still quite a big bold amp, not really a screamer

Congrats, mikey!!
Better keep it away from the 100 and 50. You may come home to find a couple of 18 watters in the litter....

yes it does... but only works for caps... not tranny's.... you can hear the biggest difference after the first 20-30hrs and will continue to hear small differences up to through next 20-30hrs... Congrats on the SLP 100!

Agreed, this amp will not take you into VH territory BUT after playing it for a few hours today, I am nearly convinced that this amp best matches all of the tones I am after... My Strat sounds like angels singing through this amp (think Jimi and Stevie)... and I positive this amp best nails the Free/ ACDC tone... it is weird how different each of my amps sound... I am a bachelor the whole weekend coming up and I fully intend to make some good quality comparison clips... (JTM45, 50w, 69 Spec 100w, and JTM45/100) I am also picking a '61 SG reissue this weekend to round out my arsenal!!!
