There's more to life than just amps?

Hard V necks are difficult, especially if they are fat. I like a 'soft' v. You could look at it as being a C with a little bit of the lower and upper shoulder shaved a bit. The Clapton strat is very close to what I like, but not exactly. I alway's purposly order a neck that is a tad bigger in the hand than what I like, so I can then shave it down to what I like.

I like them all. The old 7.25 is what I learned on so I have a soft spot for that.

I liked the original Jeff Beck baseball bat neck too.

I prefer the old 7 1/4 too.But the new 9" is OK too has its advantages.
I just don't like the satin finish on the newer necks.I want thick assed laquer

I'm with you Carl, I learned on the 7.25" radius as well so I love it, also +1 on the JB necks!

I like a 7.25" radius board with the frets flattened slightly--probably to something like 8." I've done that on a few of my guitars and I dig it. I can also get along with 9.5" radius board.

Back shapes--no real preference there.

Im dying to get another strat completely vintage spec. 7.25, vintage frets, laquer ........IMO all the greatest strat sounds were created on vintage spec strats so why not use the tools they were using.

basile865, I'm with you I love the vintage nitro laquer feel , the "7.25" radius and the vintage neck profiles as they are the original ones and feel like the guitar I first learned on. That's why I'm hoping the CS '69 has the 7.25 radius, which I'm fairly sure it does.

I agree with the 'vintage' strat specs being the 'SHIT' !. With very few exceptions, a STOCK vintage type strat is hard to beat. Notes fly off the board with more charecter. Very hard to explain, but, you know it the second you play something else, like an Ibanez or a Dean. Those just sound cold and sterile in comparison. Like being fucking neutered or something.

Simple is best thats why l love strats, being designed in 1954 and haven't changed since. Strat = Strad in violin world. Thats why l own 3 strats :D

Love the neck profile on my Malmsteens Strats! They got it just right. I dont like the Ibanez slim wizard necks.
