+1!
If one wants PAF replicas, he'll wound them with PE wire and not pot them, all on has to do is ask. And his prices are great. The ones I have in my R8 are staying, that's for sure!

Jeff is great. He built me a hot (I know not a PAF) Alnico 6 bridge PU that sounds killer. His PAF stuff is also excellent.

Well, there's a pretty nasty can of worms to open up.

Other than the shite pickups that came in my Les Paul Custom stock, the only replica pickups I have tried were Wolfetones Legends, and in my opinion, they are the shit. Through the normal channel on my 45, it is sooooo good, and they clean up fantastically.

No squeal (cept with MONSTER gain, up close to the amp), and every setting seems to sound good.

One thing that I would do differently would be to just stick with Braided shield wire instead of 4 conductor, since I thought I'd want to experiment, but I've found that what I'm doing could have been easily accomplished with the standard wiring.

I'm surprised that no one mentioned them. Those are really nice sounding pickups, at least for my taste. I also got a WCR American Steele set in one of my guitar. The bridge pickup is a bit hotter than a PAF but they sound really good too.

I've got a set of WCR Crossroads pickups with Alnico II mags in my latest guitar (pics and separate thread later). Still in the honeymoon stage but they're pretty much like the tones on Wheels of Fire. Real sensitive to pickup height changes, too, so I'll wait to write a full review till after I've dialed them in.

WB Pickups? Don't get me started on the issues surrounding them, and how they handled getting pickups to me (oh, right...it's been 21 months and they're STILL not here...)...it's not pretty, nor entertaining unless you're into S&M or other false accusation/conspiracy story stuff.

Stick with a known, respected pickup maker.
