Malmsteen strat is all Nitro finish on neck, in 5 years time it going to look very vintage. But Poly on the body wish it was Nitro.
You should always B sharp, never B flat, and just B natural.

Guess what yngve, on my next project Strat, it will be aged Vintage White nitrocellulose laquer on an alder body, no fears mate!
No more poly for this lad!
The tone of my nitro '57 Blackie and the '04 YJM, as far as the bodies go, the '57 sounds like a LP Junior in comparision.

ToneBone the seventies Strats do indeed darken on the headstock in comparision to the rest of the neck, so they are different coatings.

Do you think Lacquering the Malmsteen with nitrocellulose laquer, would make the body resonate better or breath, l know in the Classical guitar world that Poly is deading for the top of Spruce and cedar tops, they usually use Poly on back and sides for being durable.
Would be nice to get this done, l have this on my Stewart Male Strat and when l bought it it was very clear and now its very yellow golden colour.

Yngwie's early seventies Strats he leaves with the original poly finish on the bodies, beacause they are frankly expensive guitars and he makes enough changes to the tone transfer, that the poly body isn't that big an issue.
I just think for the ultimate specification Malmsteen guitar, ie; not made yet by Fender
would have the 7.25" radius, high action and the disconnected tone controls, ect.
plus the Ferrari stickers on the back of course!

You forgot the wood selection! Might get an Malmsteen Neck and get a body made out of Aussie woods for something different.
Looking forward to those DVD's

That is correct. The decals dissolved when they were sprayed with poly. So the face ofToneBone wrote:I recall reading somewhere that they would spray the face of the headstock with nitro because the poly was messing with the decals, or something along those lines.
