I talked to Jim on the phone the other day, and he said it was alnico 5 for both the neck and bridge. Which sorta suprised me given the way the low end is with those pickups. The high end cut screams alnico 5, but the low end is more round than you might expect from alnico 5. I'm not sure round is the right word, but with the attack and tone from the lower strings particularly the E, I expected them to be Alnico 2. Shows what I know.
