I want to put the original neck back on my 79 strat.I had this neck refretted a few years ago.Basically I shelled out $$ to have my neck destroyed. The new frets are sticking up so high you could fit a baseball card between the fingerboard and some of the frets bottoms and the ends were so sharp I cut my fingers open at a rehearsal on it when I got it back.I have pictures of my strat covered in blood to prove it.

..........I actually had to take a flat metal file to them myself.Surprisingly notes don't fret out on this thing but action has to be slide guitarist high.
The original neck has a heel repair allready so I don't know about sinkin $300+ into this neck.Is it possible I could perform a refret my self?? Perhaps enlarge the slots and epoxy the new wire in??Then block sand them level?
